Challenge

  • Influencer-generated content wasn’t color accurate enough for the product pages on current website.
  • Budget constraints limited traditional photography of all the color offerings.
  • In need of high quality imagery to launch a new website.

Strategy

  • Shoot a limited number of colors and use recoloring techniques to create the multiple variations required.
  • Focus on achieving a professional, cohesive aesthetic for the website with a minimal budget.
  • Utilize automated techniques in post-production.

Setting The Tone And The Technique

It was essential that the final photographs communicated the luxurious, high quality feel of the actual physical product. These images also needed longevity. I achieved this by keeping propping at a minimal, and mixing with textures that would create some contrast with the fabrics.

My strategy was to find which four or five colors could be captured and then color shifted the the thirty-three variations that were needed across sheets, comforters, and duvet sets. This would reduce days on set, costs of shipping samples, and duplicate post production time.

Executing The Shoot

The entire shoot was carefully planned to ensure all images were high-quality, on-brand, and visually consistent for the new website launch. I carefully chose lighting and backgrounds that would complement the product’s texture and tone, while also ensuring the colors remained accurate across all images.

In post production, I created a workflow that utilized strict naming conventions, batch outputs, and a scripted automations.

Results

The final imagery accurately represented the product colors, setting the tone for the new website and improving user engagement. This solution not only maximized the budget but also contributed to an increase in sales and customer interest.

Reflections

This project reinforced the importance of creative problem-solving within constraints. By carefully strategizing and thinking outside the box, I was able to deliver high-quality results that aligned with the brand’s goals.
